

Barry, the beloved son of Henry Clyde and Ollie Della Hall, was born on May 31, 1932 in Fort Worth, Texas where he lived his entire life.
He graduated from Paschal High School in 1950 and continued his formal education at Texas Christian University (TCU,) graduating with a Business Administration degree in 1955. During the Korean War he served in the Air Force Reserve in the 11th Motor Vehicle Squadron, 11th Air Base Group, Carswell Air Force Base where he reached the rank of sergeant.
Barry was married to Jacquelyn Haden of Fort Worth from 1955 to 1973 and had two children, Lydia Kay and Clinton Darren who he cherished dearly. He later met and wed Linda S. Winsett and were married from 1983 to 1999.
Barry began his professional career as an automobile insurance adjuster. Following his time as an adjuster, he took a position with the City of Fort Worth as an assistant public events director. When the City of Fort Worth’s aviation director position become available, Barry jumped at this opportunity. As aviation director he oversaw Meacham Municipal Airport (now Fort Worth Meacham International Airport,) and was instrumental in the first major expansion of its runways and property. During his time in aviation, he managed Greater Southwest International Airport (which closed when DFW International Airport was built,) Spinks Airport, and Fort Worth Helicopter Services. After his time in aviation, he returned to the insurance industry and took a position as project manager for Home Owner’s Warranty (which later became Inspire,) one of the largest warranty companies in the country.
Barry is recognized on the Fort Worth Aviation Heritage Museum Wall of Honor in downtown Fort Worth. The Wall of Honor recognizes individuals who made significant contributions to the development, advancement and success of aviation in Fort Worth. His past memberships include: American Association of Airport Executives, Director of the Texas Association of Airport Executives, Fort Worth Air Power Council and DFW Airport Advisory Policy Board.
Flying was one of Barry’s passions and he took advantage of his private pilot’s license as often as possible. He found boating on Eagle Mountain Lake in the evening very relaxing. He also enjoyed buying wrecked Cadillacs and Lincolns and having them rebuilt to sell.
In 1961, Barry joined the Fort Worth Jaycees. One of the Jaycees service projects was the Miss Fort Worth Pageant. In 1965 he became member of the incorporation committee which brought the Miss Texas Pageant to Fort Worth from Beaumont. From that point forward he served on the Board of Directors for the Miss Texas Organization and most every committee associated with the Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant, from the transportation committee to Chairman of the Board. During his time, the Miss Texas Organization was proud to have had two Miss Texas’ become Miss America. He was among the inaugural inductees into the Miss Texas Hall of Honor in 1983 and judged over 400 local pageants and 30 state pageants, three of which became Miss America. In 2010, Barry received his 50-year volunteer service pin at the Miss America Pageant. He made life-long friends and helped young women fulfill their dreams by receiving educational scholarships, building self-confidence and awareness, honing their talents and making a difference in their communities.
Barry has been a member of Southcliff Baptist Church since the mid-1960s.
He was a man of the highest integrity, fair when dealing with people, and remained calm and collected in challenging situation. Always loyal to those he called friend. He had a deeply caring heart, ready to step up when something needed to be “tended to.” Called very handsome, and always looked “crisp.” But most important, Barry was totally committed to his family. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for them, and his pride for them radiated from his very being.
The family would like to thank St. Gabriel Hospice and Comfort Keepers for their support and helping to make our loved one’s last month as comfortable as possible by demonstrating love, compassion, patience and understanding.
Barry is preceded in death by his parents: Henry Clyde and Ollie Della Hall.
He is survived by children: Lydia Hall (Doug Gleason) and Clint Hall; grandchildren Kenneth Holt (Keely Holt), Erica Hall (Kyle Barzano) and Andy Hall; great-grandchildren: Samuel Holt, Alexander Holt, Nico Barzano and Skylar Barzano; and long-time girlfriend: Gisela May.
Visitation will be held on July 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral to celebrate the life of Barry will follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Moore Memorial Gardens.
