

Graduated from Teague High School in 1939 and went immediately into the Army and then the Army Air Corp. He later served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Lizzie Sherwood in 1956 and moved to Arlington, Texas. He became the father of twin girls in 1957. He worked as a mail carrier in Arlington until he retired in 1987. He had a lifelong love of adventure. His favorite activities were camping, fishing, and swimming at the Brazos River with his family. He lived a joyous life of love, kindness and generosity. He loved to sing.
Proceeded in death by two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his daughters, Kafie Gibson Carman and Karen Gibson Faught, six grandchildren Brandon Stafford, Kendall Stafford, Thomas Spillman, Andrea Spillman Rasco, Abram Spillman, Jonathan Spillman. He had eight great-grandchildren and two more on the way. He also loved two step-daughters their six children and their children. Survived by his sister, Melrie Gibson Schoessow of Glen Rose, Texas
