Wilson Joseph Chafin Jr.

Wilson Joseph Chafin Jr., age 50, passed away peacefully in his home in Providence Village, Texas, on Friday, September 19, 2025. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Wilson was the beloved son of Wilson Chafin Sr. and Margo Brian. He grew up in Virginia and Texas, then attended high school in Matewan, West Virginia, where he played on the 1993 Class A football state championship team. He pursued his passion for art and design at the Art Institute of Atlanta, where he honed the creative talents that would define his career.

Wilson worked as a Graphic Designer at Universal Display and Fixtures for over 20 years, where his dedication and artistic vision left a lasting impact. Outside of work, he was a man of many interests—an avid computer gamer, a cigar enthusiast, a builder of remote-controlled cars, a dog lover and a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He occasionally enjoyed painting, expressing his creativity in quiet, personal ways. His beloved dog, Maya, was always by his side and brought him great comfort and companionship.

Wilson is survived by his mother, Margo Brian; his sister, Jennifer Chafin; and his nephew, Mayan Darbyshire. Though he never married or had children of his own, he was deeply loved by his family and friends, who will remember his unique spirit, sharp wit, and generous heart.

He will be missed dearly and remembered always.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Wilson will be on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive Arlington, Texas 76012.
