Winifred “Anne” Lind, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in Arlington, Texas. She was born October 29, 1933 in Colony, Kansas, to Merdick John Carter and Winifred Dulcy Whitney. Anne was a longtime resident of Arlington, Texas.
Anne was raised in Iola, Kansas, and graduated from Iola High School in 1950. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Cecil Paul Lind, and together they built a loving family and shared 64 years of marriage.
Anne dedicated much of her life to caring for others through her career in nursing and education. She began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at a hospital in Odessa, Texas. She later traveled throughout Texas, training nursing assistants for certification for a large nursing home company. Her passion for helping others eventually led her to teach at a local junior college, where she taught courses for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Outside of her professional life, Anne enjoyed spending time with the people she loved. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends, playing card and board games with her family, traveling with friends and family, dining out, and reading.
Anne will always be remembered by her family and friends as a gracious hostess, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a conscientious nurse, supervisor, and teacher who dedicated herself to helping others. Her kindness, warmth, and love for her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; her beloved husband of 64 years, Cecil Paul Lind; her daughter, Paula Anne Jones; and her son, Thomas Anthony Lind.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Jacquelyn Marie Arnett; son David Lawrence Lind; Grandsons Chris (Melissa) Morris, Michael Lind, Carson Lind, and Carter Clemmons.; Granddaughters Sarah Jones, Goldie Jones, Rachel (Chase) Raines, Katherine (Steven) Baker, and Samantha (Brennan) Torrez; Great-Granddaughters Hayley Raines, Teagan (Reed) Sissney, and Jessica Morris; Great-Grandsons Xavier Raines and Miles Baker; Great-Great-grandson Reagan Sissney.
Anne’s legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
