Bobby “Bob” David Barger passed away peacefully into the arms of his Savior on Thursday, November 17th, 2022. Bobby was born in St. Louis Missouri to Margaret Lee Casey and Amos Leon Barger who both preceded him in death. He attended Rock Spring School and Roosevelt High School in St. Louis Missouri. At Rock Spring School, he met Beverly June Green – his “Rock Spring Girl” who would later become his wife and lifelong partner. Bobby’s work career included manufacturing, truck driving and plant management for Laminated Plastics, Inc. He drove for Union Carbide and K-Mart in his late career and was also a self-employed carpenter and handyman. Bobby was an avid hunter and fisherman. He shared this love of the outdoors with his family and friends. He loved to tinker with cars and loved working on his 1928 Model A Ford “Miss Margaret”. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need, was a faithful servant of God and loved the Lord. Bob and Beverly were married May 27th, 1961, at Tower Grove Baptist Church in St. Louis and have resided in St. Louis, Missouri, Oklahoma City Oklahoma and Florissant Missouri during their 61 years of marriage. In 1976 they moved to Arnold, Missouri where they continued to raise their three boys Curtis, Scott and Todd, and welcome their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years.
Bob is survived by his wife Beverly, sons Curt (Jill), Scott (John) and Todd (Kelly) Barger. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his sisters Maxine Martin, Terri Wade and Pat Ragsdale and his brother Jerry Barger. His brothers Reuel Barger, Mike White and sister Willie Mae Batolato preceded him in death. Bob is survived by grandchildren Maria (Daniel) Martinez, Sara Rohrs, Shane (Katie) Barger, Brooke (Jared) Schindler, Brock Barger, Chase Barger and Andrew Barger. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Madison Martinez, Cole Martinez, Ezekiel Martinez and Tristan Schindler. His legacy of love of family, immeasurable work ethic, service to others, and faith in God will live on through his family for years to come.
A celebration of life will be held at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd. Arnold, MO. on November 21, 2022, from 10:00 AM.-12:00 PM. Interment to follow at Shepherd Hills Cemetery.
