April 2, 2021. Anita was born in Lewiston, Maine on December 20,1928, the oldest daughter
of Armand and Marianne Cote Dionne. She attended Lewiston schools and was a graduate
of Lewiston High School with the class of 1947.
While attending a dance at the YWCA in Auburn, Anita met and fell in love with her future
husband, Arthur Labbe. The high school sweethearts were married in 1950, enjoying 52
years of marriage until Arthur’s death in May of 2002.
For many years Anita worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses in the Lewiston-Auburn
area. Anita enjoyed spending time with her family- going out to eat, attending her grand
daughters’ sporting events, shopping “with the girls”, bowling on the Seniors League,
traveling and going for Sunday rides. For many years Anita relished going to Cabbage Island
with friends and family to enjoy a long anticipated lobster feed and the shared company of
the ones she loved. A lady before her time, she was a strong advocate for “her girls”
encouraging and supporting her daughters and granddaughters in all their endeavors.
Anita was predeceased by her husband, Arthur, sister, Jeanne Dionne Manduca, mother-inlaw,
Roselva Poirier Labbe, brother-in-law, William Manduca, nephews, Russell Manduca
and Thomas Manduca.
She is survived and missed by: daughters, Pamela Ouimette (Frank) of Greene, Patricia
Labbe (Patrick Coburn) of Auburn, granddaughters Emily Ivers (Cam) of Auburn, Sarah
Johnson (Seth Sterling) of Auburn, Sophia Ouimette and great granddaughter, Rylie Rose
Ivers. She will also be missed by grand dogs, Ellie, Marley, Lucy, Bear, Ryder, Mia, and Mika.
