1927 - 2021
POLAND - Arlene Emma (Nason) Johnson, 94, passed away Friday November 26, 2021 at her home with her son David by her side. She was born August 8, 1927 in Auburn the daughter of John W, Sr. and Gladys E. (Parker) Nason. She was the second child of eight children, having 6 brothers and a sister. Arlene graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn, class of ’46. She was a part-time clerk at the former Seavey’s Variety Store in Auburn while going to school. Then for a short time Arlene worked at the Pepperell Mill in Lewiston as an inspector of table cloths.
On May 28, 1950 Arlene married Kenneth “Ken” W. Johnson at the Minot Corner Methodist Church and left for their honeymoon in a Ford Model T. Arlene was a devoted, loving, and hardworking wife to her husband of 48 years, who died in 1998. She was a very kind and loving mother to her two sons, and grandmother to her two grandchildren. She also showed much motherly care to her brothers & sister in their youth as well as later in their lives. In her younger days, she enjoyed crocheting and knitting which her grandmother Jessie Parker had taught her. Arlene also enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens at her home in Poland.
She is survived by her two sons David Johnson and Paul Johnson & wife Bette; two brothers John W. Nason, Jr. and Donald “Don/Donnie” R Nason; two grandchildren Tira Johnson and Michael “Mike” Johnson & wife Lianne; many nieces and nephews. Arlene’s neighbor’s son who is like a third son Larry Gauthier, was much loved by her. Larry along with his sister Sheryl Gauthier will forever lover her much as well. Arlene will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her dear cousin Heidi Webb.
She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, four brothers Albert “Albie”, Harold, Richard “Dick”, and Robert “Bob” Nason; a sister Barbara (Nason) Leighton. Very Special Thanks and appreciation goes out to Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice and to their wonderful staff and employees for their GREAT care, concern, and help towards Arlene in her times of need and assistance. Also many Special Thanks to CMMC Hospital and to Clover Nursing Home for their love and help during Arlene’s illness and needs. (From-Her Entire Family).
Visition Fortin Group / AUBURN Saturday December 4th from 9-11 AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM in the funeral home.
Graveside Committal will follow at Pine Street Cemetery, Old Danville Rd. Auburn.
