Lewiston – Beatrice Lenhert, 80, of Lewiston died Tuesday, January 8th at St. Mary’s Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Auburn on November 25, 1932, the daughter of Jean Baptiste and Gabrielle (Fournier) Hebert. Bea grew up in Auburn, attended St. Louis School and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1950. Bea traveled to Florida to work where she met Edward William Lenhert. They returned to Maine where they were married at St. Louis Church on November 22, 1952. They made their home in New Auburn raising a son and three daughters. In the summer of 1988 Bea and Eddie moved to Hillview Estates in Turner where they enjoyed many years together, making wonderful friends and many memories. Bea worked locally as a waitress and bartender at Poland Spring Inn, The Steer House and Lost Valley Ski Area. As an advocate for the less fortunate, Bea often volunteered in the community including many years at St. Mary’s Hospital. She loved sewing and quilting especially spending time with her quilting “mice”. After Eddie passed away in July 2006 Bea moved to Lewiston. It is said that when God closes a door he opens a window and while on a neighborhood walk, Bea met Andre Marichal. A beautiful friendship was born as they traveled to Florida and France, volunteered together at St. Mary’s Hospital, dined out frequently and shared their Catholic faith and French heritage. Beatrice was loving, hard working, kind hearted and generous. Her faith, family and friends meant everything to her. We are all better people for having had Bea in our lives. She is survived by her dear friend Andre, brothers Maurice and J. Paul Hebert, son John and wife Lynn of Auburn, daughter Nancy of Poughkeepsie, NY, daughter Mary Anne and Allen Sterling of Auburn, daughter Amy and husband Mark Cooper of Pittston, her precious grandchildren who treasured their Memere, Nathan, Zachary, Adam, William, Samuel, Leah, Stephen, Katherine, Gabrielle and their families including 4 great grandchildren. Bea was predeceased by her parents and husband Edward. Thank you to Dr. Seth Gordon for your love, care and compassion. Godspeed Mom. We all love you.

Though only a second cousin to me, Bea had a strong sense of what family is and does for each other. I will never forget the kindness shown to me and especially Anne Marie after the passing of my grandparents Rock & Louise Fournier. Such a loss of a kind heart. My sympathies to all.

Bea, a lady who always sported a smile. We loved working with her at Lost
Valley for many years where she was so dedicated to everyone and her
work. Our sincere sympathy to Mary Anne and all the family.

Before my mom past away she was crocheting a baby blanket for me.She passed away before she completed it. At my baby shower your mother dropped the blanket off to me. She had finished it. I never forgot that. That was a special gesture I remember to this day. She was so wonderful and giving. Thoughts and prayers to you all.

I worked with Bea at Lost Valley. Whether seeing her at Shaw's or visiting her at home, the smile was always a constant. I was blessed to know both of your parents. They were the salt of the earth. Both have touched my heart. Our family extends deepest sympathies to all of you.
