Born in Lewiston, ME on October 8th, 1943, Carmen is the daughter of Gerard and Solange (Richer) Gagnon. Educated in the Lewiston area school system, she then went on to work at the Auburn Shoe shop in her early 20’s, until she became a homemaker and mother after the birth of her first daughter in 1964.
Carmen absolutely loved spending time with her family, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, boating and cruise vacations with her family. As her children got older, she enjoyed going to visit her family and friends over a cup of coffee. Her favorite pastime of recent was playing Bingo at the Marshwood Facility, where she has resided for the past 3.5 years. Carmen was a longtime member of Holy Family in Lewiston, however, in the last 10 years, she enjoyed going to church at Holy Trinity Parish in Lisbon Falls with her daughter. Carmen enjoyed being a Mimi to the many children she helped care for in both her sister and daughter’s daycares. She was known as Memere Carmen.
Carmen is survived by her husband Donald, their four children, Sally and her husband Bob Cote, Muriel and her husband Gil Michaud, Norman and his wife Amy Saindon, Laurie-Ann and her wife Brenda Byram, as well as several grandchildren Heather Cote, Alex and Nick Corey, Amanda Breton and Derek Michaud, Cassidy and Carissa Saindon, Amanda Ouellette, Colby and Emily Gary and her great granddaughter Aileah Cote as well as many nieces and nephews, her brother Moe and his wife Lou Gagnon as well as her sister Jackie and her husband Marcel Morin.
Carmen is predeceased by her parents and her two brothers Roger and Raymond Gagnon.
A visitation will be held from 6-9PM on Friday September 30, 2022 at the Fortin Group in Auburn. There will be a mass of Christian burial on Saturday October 1st at the Holy Trinity Parish in Lisbon Falls at 11:00 AM.
