Carol Ann Hunt

Born on July 29, 1954, in Lewiston, Maine, to Rita and Lewis Campbell, Carol grew up alongside her three siblings and close neighborhood friends. It was during these formative years that she developed her lifelong passion for cooking and her deep, enduring love for animals. She graduated from Edward Little High School and went on to dedicate many years of work to LePage Bakery in Auburn.

Carol shared 51 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Elmer Lee Hunt. Together, they had a daughter, Amy Hunt Spencer; and they built a welcoming life filled with vibrant gatherings of family and friends, and a home always made complete by their cherished pets.

Carol was best known for her unwavering loyalty, her generous spirit, and her unmatched skills in the kitchen. She lived life with a wonderful mix of comfort and adventure; her favorite moments were spent hosting large family dinners, walking "marathons" around Kohl’s, dining out, snuggling with her pets, and even bravely skydiving.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Elmer Hunt; her daughter, Amy Hunt Spencer, and son-in-law, Jon Spencer; and her two granddaughters, Ayla and Esme Spencer, who will miss their grandmother dearly but will forever carry her memory forward. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Campbell, her sister, Gloria Brooks, sister in law Barbie Violette and many nieces and nephews.

Carol is now reunited with her parents and beloved younger brother, Mike Campbell; and the plethora of dear pets she loved so deeply throughout her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Carol’s memory to the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society or to a local Addiction & Recovery center for alcoholism, two causes close to her heart.
