

Lewiston - Charlotte B. Grant, 87, of Auburn, passed away on Friday September 28, 2012, at D'Youville Pavilion following a long illness. She was born at Cundy's Harbor Maine, on November 6, 1924, a daughter of the late Percy and Ethel (Footman) Brackett. She attended local schools and Lewiston High School. She was married to Romeo Martin who passed away in1993. She also married Napoleon St. Hillaire who passed away in 1973. On October 12 1995 she married Irving Grant, and together they lived at Schooner Estates in Auburn. She worked at The Strand Theater, St. Hilaire Fuel and St. Mary's Hospital, retiring in 1988. She was known for her willingness to care for others that needed assistance with maintaining quality of life while she provided extensive loving care for her daughter Nancy until her untimely death on June 2, 1978. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Lewiston where she served on various committees and for several years chaired the Public Supper Committee. She enjoyed traveling to various parts of the world, card playing, sending greeting cards to her many friends and participating in social events with her husband. Charlotte is survived by her husband Irving Grant of Auburn, her son Dennis St. Hilaire of Colorado, 3 step-daughters: Rolande Kramarz of Lewiston, Gisele Camire and her husband John of Greene, Venise Simpson and her husband Barry of Florida, 5 step-sons: Ronald Martin and his wife Rita of Lewiston, Ronald Grant and his wife Sharon of Greene, Stanley Grant and his wife Sharon of Lewiston, Donald Grant and his wife Laural of Lisbon, Stephen Grant and his wife Pamela of Lewiston, and several step-grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husbands, Napoleon St. Hilaire and Romeo Martin, her daughter Nancy and her brother Frederick. Visitation will be held at The Fortin Funeral Home in Auburn, on Tuesday from 12 noon to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at The Funeral Home following visiting hours at 2:00 PM. Committal services will be held immediately afterwards at The Crowley Cemetery on Rte. 196 in Lewiston.
