Claude Marcel Ouellette

Lewiston - Claude M. Ouellette, 62, of Auburn, passed away on Tuesday January 14, 2014 at Central Maine Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Lewiston on November 18, 1951, a son of Mariette (Dallaire) Ouellette and the late Roger H. Ouellette. He attended Lewiston High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving his nation in The Vietnam War. He was a member of AARP who loved fishing, riding his motorcycle, dismantling everything and making artistic creations of his own. He was an avid horticulturist and bird lover who was very neighborly, social, funny and charismatic. His time spent with his family was very precious to him and he was a great lover of celebrating life with family and food. Claude is survived by his mother, Mariette Ouellette of Gray, 3 children: Michelle Battaglia Ouellette of California, Christine Mutchler Ouellette of California, Adrien Ouellette and his wife of Ct., 3 grandchildren: Taylor Battaglia Ouellette, Gabriel Battaglia Ouellette and Lauren Mutchler, a brother: Marc Ouellette of Gray, a sister: Sonia Turgeon and husband Mark of Gray, a niece: Katie Belisle, a nephew: David Belisle, an aunt: Pauline Turgeon of Fl., and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Roger Ouellette, sister: Diane Belisle and nephew: Tony Belisle. Visitation will be held at The Fortin Group/Plummer Merrill Funeral Home, in Auburn on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home, at 3:00 Pm. Committal services will be held next Tuesday at 12 Noon at The Maine Veteran's Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, donations in Claude's memory may be made to "The Wounded Warrior Fund" care of the Fortin Funeral Home.
