

She was born in Lewiston on September 23, 1925, the daughter of Joseph Mailhot Jr. and Antoinette (Perrault) Mailhot. She attended local schools and although she didn’t graduate high school, she was awarded her GED on November 20, 1989.
Colombe married Gerard L. Lavalliere on December 29, 1956, and they raised their family in Lewiston. Gerry passed on July 11, 1999.
She is survived by her children, Guy Lavalliere, Marc Lavalliere and his wife Aline, Lise Murray (and Ken Alden), Paul Lavalliere and his wife Ann, all of Lewiston, her beloved (baby) sister, Connie Labbay, grandchildren Shannon, Scott, Nicole, Katie and Melissa, and her great grandchildren Delia, Avery, Everett, Wyatt, Isla and Dylan. She was predeceased by her brother Ray Mailhot, her sister Denise (Mailhot) Schreiber and daughter-in-law Mary (Adams) Lavalliere.
Mom was known to everyone for her loving kindness and compassionate ways and always went out of her way to help those in need. Her loving ways just radiated into everyone’s lives she touched which is the reason why everyone loved her back.
She loved cooking, especially at the holidays and was known for her summertime cookouts, with her delicious potato salad always being the star of the show. She was always cooking meals for other people.
Mom enjoyed traveling, having done a cross country trip with Ray, Connie and Lou. She made several trips to Florida to visit Connie and Lou during the winter months. Her last trip was in Fall of 2018 with Lise and Connie to visit with her niece Anne Gennaro in Raleigh, NC. She also enjoyed crafting, sewing, growing flowers in her yard playing bingo with all her friends at Oak Park, as well as playing bingo with her son Guy at Montello Manor.
She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Auburn and Sabattus, the Red Hat Society and the Secret Sister Society.
Mom was a devout Catholic and brought up all her children in the Catholic faith. She encouraged her children to be involved with the church and made sure her kids understood how important faith was in their lives.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Montello Manor for providing Mom with such loving care and to the Andwell Hospice team who were so kind and helpful to the family.
The family invites you to a time of visitation on Thursday, January 16, from 4-7 p.m. at The Fortin Group Auburn, 217 Turner St., Auburn
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday January 17, at 10 a.m. at Prince of Peace (Holy Cross) Church, 1080 Lisbon Street, Lewiston
