

LISBON — Conrad “Pete” Rosaire Deschenes, 76, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 26, 1950, to Alcide and Mattie Deschenes.
Pete was educated in St. Anne, New Brunswick, Canada, and later earned his GED. He made his home and built his career in the Lewiston-Auburn area, where he worked for more than 26 years at Philips Elmet. During his retirement, Pete enjoyed spending time in Florida, where he made many wonderful new friends while continuing to cherish time with his family.
Pete found joy in many simple pleasures, including camping, woodworking, canning, boating, and driving. He especially loved taking his family on outings and vacations and creating lasting memories together. Above all, Pete loved God and his family. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed attending Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon, Maine.
Pete is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Rita; his three sons, Conrad and his partner, Terri; Dwayne and his partner, Skye; and Keith and his wife, Jessica. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Real; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who held a special place in his heart.
Pete also shared a special bond with those he considered dear to him, including Rachel Bernard, Velma Ouellette, Muriel Michaud, and Jennifer Fecteau.
The family extends their heartfelt love and gratitude to everyone who touched Pete’s life throughout the years. We sincerely apologize to anyone who may have been unintentionally missed or not mentioned in this obituary. Please know that each person who shared a part of Pete’s life was meaningful to him and to his family.
Pete was predeceased by his parents, as well as his siblings, Claude, Roland, Theresa, Clairmont, and Dorianne.
At Pete’s request, there will be no funeral or viewing. He will be laid to rest at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn, Maine. A memorial gathering celebrating his life will be held in the spring.
Pete will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the countless memories he created with those he loved.
