He was born in Lewiston, Maine on June 22, 1951 the son of Adrien and Doris (Lavoie) Caron and were both deceased in August of 1951 from a terrible trailer truck accident while driving up Northern Maine to visit relatives. Both Daniel and his sister Claire were the only survivors.
Both Daniel and Claire were later adopted by Bertrand and Simonne (Caron) Chretien, Aunt and Uncle on Dad’s side.
They made many trips to Boston’s Children’s Hospital for brain surgeries. He attended local schools and had tutors who came to the house as well. In 1968, he went to the Occupational Training Center also known as Pathways for 40 years and learned a few skills there. He was living at the Auburn Residential Care Home. Then he attended Goodwill’s Westside Neuro Rehab program and learned more skills there and became a little more independent. In 2018, Dan moved to St. Mary’s D’Youville Nursing Home where he has been residing the last few years.
Dan is survived by his sister Claire Caron; brother Bert and his wife Kari; his niece and nephew Rachel and Joshua; other nieces and nephews Michael and Stacia of Lewiston, David and Jennifer of Phoenix, AZ, James and Catrece of Lisbon and Chrystal Caron of Ocotillo, CA; he also had several grand nieces and nephews.
