David Charles Darling

He was born in Lewiston, Maine on July 21, 1952 the son of Wallace and Eleanor (Cole) Darling.

After graduation from high school he entered the U.S. Navy. He served for four years in Vietnam. He then returned to Auburn and obtained a degree from Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute.

He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He enjoyed teaching young people.

He got a job at Bath Iron Works. He was there for thirty years. He was a hunter and loved to go ice fishing.

David is survived by his wife of twenty three years Mary Jo Darling and his brother Scott Darling; and several nieces and nephews.

A Military Honors Service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 2-5 PM at the Fortin & Pinette Group, 217 Turner St. in Auburn, 783-8545.
