Diane was raised in Lewiston, Maine by her loving parents Fernand and Lucette Landry. She attended Holy Family grade school, St Dominic Regional High School and University of Maine.
Diane married the love of her life, Richard Plourde on November 3rd 1978. They shared a beautiful journey spanning 47 years, and their love was the foundation of a family that brought them immeasurable joy. They lived in Lewiston and built a family, having two daughters, Tara and Marisa. Richard and Diane retired to Florida five years ago to enjoy the warm sunshine and pink flamingos.
Diane worked in sales, most notably for Steele Service Center, Waste Management, International Paper and finally Geiger Brothers. Her love of talking to people and her outgoing personality made it easy for her to develop both professional and personal relationships in whatever she was doing. She followed in her father’s footsteps to serve on Maine Family Credit Union committees.
When not working, Diane was a talented painter of portraits, scenery, still life or anything she thought was pretty. She loved to travel, especially cruises with friends. Richard and Diane were avid campers, starting with tiny tents and increasingly larger trailers. When the grandchildren came on scene, they settled at Augusta West Kampground.
Diane loved to entertain. Almost every holiday was spent with family around the dining room table. Friday nights were special with close friends gathered around that same table after dining out for dessert and drinks. Following the example set by her mother, the table was often set by Wednesday and covered in plastic until the morning of the gathering. Diane loved her family, especially her grandchildren, they were her sunshine. She loved spending time with them and bragging about them to anyone who would listen.
Diane is survived by her husband Richard. Her two daughters, Tara Ruth and husband, Michael of Punta Gorda, Fl, Marisa Verrill and husband Matthew of Bangor, ME and five grandchildren Aiden, Courtney, Dacyn, Addison and Amelia. She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Ouellette and husband, Jerry and Jeanne King and husband, Skip as well as many nieces and nephews.
