He was born Sept. 11, 1953, in Lynn, MA, to George and Ethel Chrisos. He leaves behind his first and only love, high school sweetheart and wife of 36 years, Shirley Canning Chrisos, who was by his side when he went home to be with the Lord; their sons, Bill and his wife Angie and their children Abigail, Caroline, and Sarabeth, of Deerfield Beach, FL; Jonathan of Portland; and David and his wife Meghan and their daughter Emma of Stoughton, MA; sister Elaine of Georgetown, MA; brother Greg of Naperville, IL; and in-laws Ross and Dorothy Canning of Lynn, MA. He is pre-deceased by his parents.
Always optimistic, he could inspire and entertain any crowd with his storytelling skills and humor. He made his living as a regional sales manager for NEMF but made his family his life. A graduate from Lynn Classical High School in 1971, he was a former football captain at Boston University whose biggest joys in life were spending time with his wife and coaching his sons on the field, and in life, and watching them succeed.
When he wasn't filling his days with sales calls, after school practices, and church activities, he was watching his Patriots, Red Sox, or Celtics, getting in “a quick 9” on the golf course, or trying out a new restaurant.
He looked forward to walking the streets of heaven where he planned to coach the angels. Because his family can only imagine there are no tears past the gate, they picture him leading Greek dances on the streets of heaven. His big heart, lovable personality, and sweet smile will always be remembered by the lives he touched.
Visiting hour will be 1-2 on Saturday, July 28, at Bangor Baptist Church, 1476 Broadway, Bangor, with a memorial service, food, and fellowship to follow.
