1939 - 2022
In the early morning hours of January 28, 2022, Edyth A. Gagnon went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Born June 24, 1939, in Bath Maine, she was the daughter of Thomas N. Lowery and Virginia Payson Lowery. She was educated in Bath Schools and attended Auburn Maine School of Commerce. She worked most of her life aiding and improving the lives and families of members of her community. She had a kind heart and giving spirit and would give you her last dime if you needed it. In her mid 40’s she went back to school and became a CNA/Med tech and thrived working in area nursing homes.
Active in her church, (Hosanna New Testament Church in Welchville, Me.) That is where she found her Lord and Savior and up until her last breath, she shared her faith with all. She hosted youth group in our home and had an open-door policy. Our home was often filled with local teens and our dinner table always had room for one more. At one point she had set up a ceramic’s studio in our home giving classes on pottery painting and different pottery techniques. She also had a deep love for the ocean. We spent many childhood days playing and frolicking in the waves. She often said that she was most at peace at Popham beach, sitting on the rocky shoreline.
Edyth was predeceased by her infant son John Cantral, and she was anxiously waiting for the day that she would again hold him in her arms. She leaves behind her husband Roger J. Gagnon of over 50 years and her Children Jane Cantral, Thomas (Merien) Cantral, Elizabeth (Richard) Francoeur, Catherine (Keith)McConnell and Roger (Katherine) Gagnon. She is survived by her Siblings Margaret (Jack) Hazenbroek and Thomas (Barbara) Lowery. Nephews Scott and David Hazenbroek and Niece Ginni Candelaria. Her Grandchildren; Hope Johnson, Melissa (John) Knowlton, Brett (Megan) Cantral, Thomas Cantral, Scott (Darlene) Dillingham, John (Jennifer) Johnson, Rebecca (Matthew) Boyle, Benjamin (Ashley)Roberts, Kristen Dillingham, Chad(Jocelyn) Dow, Amy (Jared)Schrupp, Katherine(Ian) Robertson Amanda Gagnon, Kathy Cantral, Roger Gagnon III, Jacob Gagnon and her 20 Great grandchildren were the light and joy of her life!
