

LEWISTON - Ernest Roger Doyon, 95, of Lewiston, peacefully passed away on Wednesday Nov. 6, 2024, at d'Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. He was born in Lewiston on March 20, 1929, a son of the late Ernest and Josephine (Demers) Doyon. He grew up in the Danville/Auburn area and attended Auburn schools.
After serving his country in the US Army, he married his love on June 4, 1949, Georgette G. Savard and they started a family together. During the majority of his career, he worked as a bread salesman for the John J Nissen Baking Company until his retirement. After retirement, he worked part-time delivering flowers for Dube's Flower shop.
Dad was a devoted husband and father who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. He will always be remembered for his love of traveling, dancing, bowling, watching sports, reading, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He will be deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his children, Richard and Suzanne Doyon of Auburn, Daniel and Maureen Doyon of Lewiston, Michael and Tania Doyon of Lewiston and Marc and Stacey Doyon of Westbrook. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Timothy Doyon and his partner, Natalie Swift, Tamara Kimball, Laurie Doyon and her husband, Craig Sinclair, Jeffrey Doyon and his husband Ryan King, Katie Doyon and her wife Dawn Richards, Stephen Doyon and his wife, Angela Cole, Jason Doyon and his wife, Kathleen Doyon and Tracy Bemis and her husband, James Bemis; as well as his great grandchildren, Jacob, Brady, Hannah, Eric, Logan, Caleb, Brent and Ava. Dad was predeceased by his wife Georgette, to whom he was married for 69 years. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Marcel Doyon, Henrietta Poulin, Jeanne Michaud, Rene Doyon, Albert Doyon and George Doyon; and a great-grandson, Cooper Doyon-Canada.

Visitation will be held at Fortin & Pinette Group in Auburn on Friday November 15, from 9-11 a.m., followed by a Liturgy of the Word prayer service at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Committal prayers will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston.
