

Fernand “Fern” Roland Labbe, age 84, took his last breath on June 25, 2026, at the Hospice House in Auburn, Maine with his wife Pauline, daughters: Cheryl, Kelli & Kim, and grandson Camdan by his side.
Born in Lewiston, Maine on August 19, 1941, the son of the late Philip and Marie Labbe of Lewiston. Fern was the fourth oldest in the family of 10 children and was a father figure to many of his younger siblings.
Fern voluntarily enlisted in the Army National Guard when he was 17 years old and served for 4 years.
He valued education and went to night school to complete his high school diploma, which he received when he was 25 years old.
He was a member of Holy Cross Parish for over 60 years. Fern was also active in many charities and civic organizations, including the Freemasons, American Legion, Elks, and as a volunteer for the Dempsey Challenge for many years.
Fern was an incredibly hard-worker and had a long career in various fields including: working at the textile mill beginning in teens, a hand-sewer for a shoe company, a carpenter for the local union, and a Millwright Welder at Sappi paper where he retired from after 35 years.
Fern was a dedicated and loving husband, an amazing dad, a supportive brother, and a great friend to so many.
In his free time Fern enjoyed: going to garage sales, traveling the world, singing karaoke, fixing things, running (including completing the Maine Marathon), going to McDonalds for coffee with his friends, and taking road trips.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline, of 63 years, Cheryl Botts of Bluffton, SC and her husband Edward Botts, Kelli Hebert of Lewiston, ME and her husband Donald Hebert, and Kimberly Labbe-Poisson of Lisbon, ME, and her husband Danny Poisson. He has four grandchildren Amanda Jones of Decatur, GA and her husband Dustin Jones, Chelsea Ouellette of Auburn, ME and her husband Peter Ouellette, Camdan Poisson of Lisbon, ME and his wife Jordan Poisson, and Mackenna Poisson of Lisbon, ME. He has four great-grandchildren Dallas Jones, Oliver Ouellette, Vivian Ouellette, and Aria Poisson.
He is predeceased by his son, Brian Leo Labbe.
Visitation will be held on July 1st, at The Fortin and Pinnette Group on 217 Turner Street, Auburn, Maine, from 4:00 to 6:00. Funeral services will be held on July 2nd at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on 22 Ash St. Lewiston, Maine at 11:00 AM, with Committal Prayers to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
