George was a resident of John F. Murphy Homes since the early 2000’s and even longer, a member of The First Assembly of God church, where he touched many lives. George enjoyed going to the JFM Strawberry Avenue Day Program, or as he called it, “going to work”, for more than 40 years. George was a talented artist, painting and constructing many arts & crafts there. When George wasn’t being crafty, he was cooking up new ways to make people smile and laugh, often with wholesome pranks. Whether it was talking about his beloved Three Stooges, or a joke he came up with on his own, or showing off his new watch, George brought a smile to everyone’s face.
George was also a huge Mickey Mouse fan, often requesting the beloved rodent for many birthday and Christmas gifts. He especially enjoyed going to Disney World and visiting his dear sister, Nanci Jenney. George also enjoyed bowling, Bingo, and winning prizes at county fairs with his mother. Though, if you asked him what his favorite activity was, he wouldn’t hesitate to tell you that it was going to breakfast with his brother and best friend, Dale, at his preferred breakfast spot, Governor’s Restaurant.
Anyone who knew George, knew he had an insatiable sweet tooth that could only be quenched by peanut butter cups, peanut butter fudge, or peanut butter pie. Not only did he love sweets, but he loved his french fries, onion rings, and pepper steak.
Above all, George loved his family most. If George knew you, he loved you. George would always have a story ready to tell about a loved one, no matter how much time had gone by.
George is survived by his brother Dale White and his wife Michelle of Lewiston. Many nieces and nephews, Nathan White, Larry White Jr., Becky Mills, Hollie Libby, Sherri Norton, Raymond Morin Jr. Also by several cousins, Great Nieces, Great Nephews and countless friends made along the way.
George is predeceased by his parents Ruth and Ernest White, his sister Nanci Jenney, and his brother, Larry White Sr.
George’s family would like to extend their many heartfelt thanks to: JFM Staff & Home, who took exceptional care of him, The JFM Strawberry Ave. Day Program Staff, The Hospice House, and Brother Cougle of the First Assembly of God Church.
