Lewiston-Harold "Hal" Grondin 81, of Valview Dr. Auburn died unexpectedly Sunday July 10, 2011. He was born in Gardner, ME on October 10, 1929 a son of the late Adolphe and Blanche (Bolduc) Grondin. He graduated from Monmouth Academy class of 1948. He then went on to proudly serve his country in The US Army.
Hal worked for 38 years at Geiger Bros. in Lewiston. He was a member of The United Methodist Church in Auburn, The Kora Shriners and The Barber Shop quartet. Hal received his pilots license before his drivers license and loved to fly in his younger years. He also enjoyed singing, fishing, traveling, camping with his grandchildren, spending time on Taylor Pond, family gatherings and was an avid reader. Prior to returning to Maine this spring he was a resident of Florida where he was acively involved in the Shrine and a proud member of the "CrackerJacks" singing group.
Hal leaves two daughters Debra Lavoie and her significant other John Miller of Auburn and Donna Berube and her companion Todd Monier of Auburn, a sister Frances Paione of GA, two grandchildren Chad Lavoie and his wife Amy of Manchester, NH and Amanda Johnson and her companion Rick Servideo of Lisbon, and a great granddaughter Leighton Lavoie. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years Norma Grondin, and two brothers Richard and Jackie Grondin.
He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, papa, recent great-papa, and friend to all that loved him,
