

Harold A. Williams, 93, of Auburn passed away on Wednesday September 24, 2025 at home with his children by his side. He was born on December 26,1931 in Lewiston, the son of Clifford and Mamie Williams.
He attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1952. Harold met the love of his life Elva whom he affectionately referred to as his PEACHES in the 7th grade. They married on August 10, 1957 at Court Street Baptist Church in Auburn where he was a longtime member until it closed. He then attended Wayside Bible Baptist in Livermore. Together they were blessed with 5 children and he was the proud Papa of 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Harold loved life and he lived every day to the fullest. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family. He always looked forward to family gatherings with everyone.
He enjoyed the simple things in life, playing his guitar, going fishing, and in his early days taking long rides on his Goldwing motorcycle and then later in his Yellow Jeep with his license plate that read My Joy. Harold and Peaches made wonderful memories traveling together during the course of their marriage. They visited many countries in Western Europe, and traveled extensively throughout the United States.
In 1952 Harold enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served as a senior lineman specialist. He was deployed to Korea during the war. After leaving the Air Force he attended and graduated from Bedards Barber School in 1956. He then joined his dad in the family business Williams Barber Shop which opened in 1929 in Auburn. He continued to barber well into his eighties. Harold was also head of security for many years at Bates College.
Harold was a member of the Tranquil Lodge #29 in Auburn Maine. He was raised to the degree of a Master Mason on May 30, 1962. On May 31, 1962 he became a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Androscoggin, and also became affiliated with the Valley of Portland on the same date. Harold was installed as the Master of Tranquil, Lodge #29, on January 1,1977 through January 1,1978. He had 63 years of great service in the fraternity.
Harold is survived by his son Harold G Williams of Auburn and longtime companion Sonya Thibodeau of Rumford , daughter Cynthia Bolduc and her husband James from Auburn, son Peter Williams and his wife Jennifer from Lewiston, daughter Roberta Bevill and her husband Mark from Auburn and daughter Susan Williams from Auburn. He was predeceased by his wife Elva in 2019.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service for Harold on Wednesday, October 1st at 11:30 AM at the Fortin & Pinette Group Funeral Home, 217 Turner Street Auburn, ME 04210. Military Honors and Committal Prayers will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
