Villages, FL - Heywood "Bud" M. Leighton 83 of Turner and Villages, FL died Thursday April 3, 2014 in Villages, FL. He was born in Portland, on August 22, 1930 a son of the late Harry and Francis (Johnson) Leighton Sr. Bud worked for several years at BIW. He was a former member of St. Louis Church. Bud enjoyed watching baseball, especially following his Yankees, he also enjoyed going to breakfast and then taking a ride in his red Jeep with his dog at his side, wintering in Florida and being alone at home watching TV. He leaves his son Robert "Bob" Leighton and his wife Claire of Minot, a son in law Randy Sherman of Mechanic Falls, three grandchildren Heather Swallow and husband Jonathan of Dyer Brook, ME Robie Leighton and wife Jessica of Minot and Shane Sherman of Mechanic Falls, a great granddaughter Leigha Swallow, three brothers Harry Leighton Jr., of Auburn, Larry Leighton and wife Carol of Fl, and Randall Leighton of TX. He was predeceased by his first wife Barbara (Nason) Leighton, his second wife Bernadette (Baillargeon) Leighton a daughter Joyce Sherman and two brothers Frederick and Edward Leighton.
