Joan M Webb

Joan Majella (Nelson) Webb 91, of Auburn passed away Friday September 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 10, 1934 the third daughter of Howard I and Ann V(McCarthy) Nelson in Lewiston. A 1952 graduate of Edward Little High, Joan was a lifelong resident of Auburn.

Joan dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband David, and their five children.

In her younger years she was very active in Eagles Auxiliary, Y-wives and Literary Guild. As her children grew, she enjoyed going to dance recitals, football games, and attending Eagles conventions and Navy Reunions with her husband. Always with a book in hand, no matter the genre. She captured the daily memories of her family through her daily journals.

Joan was predeceased by her husband David E. Webb Sr., sisters Margaret Nelson and Elaine Provost.

Already lovingly missed by daughters, Diana E. Soiett, Heidi R. Webb and Rebecca M. Gagnon and husband Gil, sons David E. Webb Jr. and wife Monica, Shawn N. Webb, and wife Mary.

Her greatest joy was visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lovely known as "Gram", her legacy will live on through her grandchildren, Shane Soiett and wife Erica, Joshua Psykira and wife Jessica Sirkin, Kasey Gagnon and partner Nick Giberti, Kilton and Ireland Webb, Alex and Aidan Webb, Destiny, Jake, and Devynn Gagnon; and great grandchildren, Theo, Breanna and Addison Soiett, Amulet, Kai, and Tao Giberti.

Her family is grateful for the loving care provided by the staff of Clover Manor and Andwell Hospice.

In lieu of flowers her wish was for donations to be made to the Cancer Society of Maine and the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society.

Visitation for Joan will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 11AM to 12PM at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 217 Turner Street Auburn, ME 04210. A Graveside Service will follow at 12:15PM at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner Street Auburn, ME 04210.
