2017 - 2021
Portland- Julian H. Pellerin 4, of Auburn died Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Maine Medical Center in his parent's arms. He was born in Portland on January 14, 2017 a son of Jennifer Howitt and Michael Pellerin.
Julian was a beautiful, loving, animated, honest, and zestful soul. He was most at peace when outdoors, so he often encouraged his family to go for walks, hikes, snowshoeing, sledding, climbing, visits to the beach and swimming. Last year Julian was able to ski for the first time, something he and his parents were all very proud of. He discovered the excitement of fair rides over the summer and surprised his parents by going on a small rollercoaster! You could always catch him swinging on his tire swing, with a popsicle in hand, not a care in the world.
Music was an integral part of home life for Julian. He played an electronic keyboard gifted by his great Uncle Bob and had recently started tolerating his dad's guitar playing. Julian enjoyed a wide variety of music including Queen, George Winston, Disney songs, Lady Gaga, and Simon and Garfunkel. Family dance parties will always be a treasured memory.
Julian was considered "non-speaking" and because of that was learning to use a speech device. Recently, he had learned to communicate his love for watching live sports, especially the Celtics. The family can not describe what a gift it had been to hear Julian's voice.
Julian was a student at Sandcastle, in Lewiston. Sandcastle was a home away from home for Jules and he had a special bond with each of his teachers. Keri, Yaicha, Roxi, Sarah P., Terri, Nicole, Scotty, Sarah W., Nysa, Jaci and Hawa, the family can not thank you enough for all the love you gave to Julian. The family would also like to thank all the first responders, from Poland Fire & Rescue, Androscoggin Sherriff's Office, and the Lewiston Police department, the staff at CMMC, and MMC for all the efforts and the love and compassion given to the family. Also special thanks to Dr. Ozarowski and Dr. Dalzell for supporting Julian and his family throughout the years.
He is survived by his parents Jennifer Howitt and Michael Pellerin, his sister Ivy all of Auburn, his Maternal grandparents Jenny & George Howitt Sr. of Lewiston, his paternal grandparents Sandy Brown and her husband Rob of Carmel and Peter Pellerin of Hampden, and his Paternal great-grandmother Charlene Jones of Carmel, and many aunt, uncles and cousins.
Julian's loving spirit will be missed by so many. Though his time on earth was cut way too soon with this tragic accident he touched so many lives. Julian always danced to the beat of his own drum and lived life fully, in a way that we should all be so lucky to do.
