Lauri Ann Preo

LEWISTON- Lauri Ann Preo passed away June 15th, 2026, peacefully at the young age of 56. Born in Lewiston, Maine to the late Robert and Carole Preo Jan 18th, 1970. Lauri grew up in Auburn for most of her life. She graduated from ELHS in 1988. She went on to get a master's degree from USM in Social Work. Lauri worked in many places including Seniors Plus, nursing homes and then at DHHS for many years.

Lauri is survived by her daughter Katelyn Belanger and fiancé Tyler Thibodeau-Grant and the light of Lauri's eye, her grandson Kelby Grant, of Auburn. Her partner, Joseph Purtuska of Auburn, her sister & brother-in-law Lisa & George Caron, their children Paula Caron, Jack Caron, and grandchild Willow Caron of Auburn. Brother & sister-in-law Robert & Darcy Preo, daughter Avery Preo, John & Emily Kyle & their son Thomas Kyle of Colorado. Sister Karen Cardona of Oklahoma and her children Kayelin & Darwin Ordonez and their children Jaiden, Aleiyh, Elianna Ordonez of Oklahoma, Amber Landry of California, Bianca Dawkins of Alaska, and Ely Cardona-Preo of Oklahoma. As well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lauri is predeceased by her parents Robert Preo 2018, Carole Lachance Preo 2019.

Lauri will be remembered as the life of any gathering, someone whose smile could light up any room. She brought warmth, laughter and energy wherever she went, leaving a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know her.

She lived by the motto many will never forget: "chin up - tits out". It was more than just words - it reflected her strength, humor, confidence and the way she faced life head on, no matter what came her way.

Lauri's spirit was bold and genuine. She spoke her mind, stayed true to who she was and loved deeply. Her presence was one of comfort, honesty and unwavering loyalty to those closest to her.

Lauri will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all those who met, knew and loved her.

Lauri is now reunited in heaven w/ her best friend, Natalie Morn whom she loved dearly, a bond that never could be broken.
