Linda Joan Morin, 84, of Minot, Maine, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Woodlands Memory Care, following the long-term effects of dementia. Born December 15, 1941, in Livermore Falls, Maine, she was the daughter of Phillip and Mildred Hamilton.
Linda married the love of her life, Ronald Morin, on August 10, 1985, in Auburn, Maine. Throughout her working life, she dedicated herself to steady, meaningful service—spending 15 years with L.L. Bean and 10 years with Headstart Programs.
Linda’s gifts and interests were many, and she carried them with a quiet devotion that drew others close. She found joy in the simple, enduring pleasures of home and season: gardening, cooking, and music; swimming and snow shoeing; and the wintry thrill of ice fishing and snowmobiling. She was known for her remarkable musical ability—able to yodel and to sing with striking beauty—and her creativity showed in the time she spent with coloring books and in the afghans she crocheted.
Her talent was also recognized beyond her circle of family and friends. In 1976, she received awards including “Linda with Feelings,” Country Band of the Year with the Maine Country Music Association, and Female Country Music Artist of the Year. In 1977, she received the WPOR Mike Award.
Linda’s affections were distinctly her own and fondly remembered: her love of the New England Patriots, her admiration for race car driver Tony Stewart, and her eagerness each spring to be the first to find a four-leaf clover. She also treasured time along the shore—beachcombing Pine Point for shells and the ever-sought-after sand dollar.
Linda is survived by her spouse, Ron Morin of Minot, Maine; her children, Craig Greenleaf of Jay, Maine; Rhonda Kenney and her husband Robert of Monmouth, Maine; Christine Marquis of Litchfield, Maine; Jeannine Dumas of Buckfield, Maine; and Ron Morin Jr. of Lewiston. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mandy Koczkodan, Laura Allain, Kristin Greenleaf, Angela Grondin, Jenna Pursley, Jeremiah Treadwell, Zachary Eaton, Christopher Eaton, Sarah Fournier, and Ashley Vining; her great-grandchildren, Michael Koczkodan, Alex Koczkodan, Ethan Koczkodan, Jenna Curtis, Ava Curtis, Roslie Allain; and her great-great-grandchildren, Rebecca Christian and Max Treadwell. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, and the special friends she met along the way.
Linda was predeceased by Phillip Hamilton-brother, Rita Hammond, Diane Richards, and Marilyn Thurlow.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation for Linda on Wednesday, July 8th from 2PM to 4PM at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 217 Turner Street Auburn, ME 04210. A Committal Service will take place on Thursday, July 9th at 9AM at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Avenue Augusta, ME 04330.
