Lorraine Anna Obie

Lorraine Anna Obie, 87, of Lisbon, Maine, passed away on August 28, 2026. Born on August 4, 1939, Lorraine was educated in Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School. Throughout her life, she was known for a steady kindness and a compassionate way of caring for others that was felt most deeply by those closest to her.

Lorraine worked for the State of Maine, as well as Pioneer Plastics and Lee Group. In every season of life, she carried herself with quiet consideration for others, offering warmth and patience in the everyday moments that so often mean the most.

On June 27, 1959, Lorraine married Gerard Wilfred Obie. Her greatest achievements were her family, and she loved seeing her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren—taking genuine joy in their lives and holding them close in heart and spirit.

Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she approached it with care and pride—meticulous in decorating her Christmas trees, and when she had a theme in mind, she made it happen. She was a talented seamstress and crocheter, and she also enjoyed jewelry making and wreath designs. She was a lover of HSN and OVC, and she also loved to cook, sharing comfort and care through the meals she prepared.

Lorraine was an active member of the St. Louis Church choir for many years, singing at Masses as well as many funeral services. Through her faithful presence and gentle voice, she offered a steady, compassionate tribute to others in their times of remembrance.

Lorraine is survived by her son Paul (Rhonda) Obie, her two daughters Dianne (Ike) Obie Wallace and Monita Obie. She is also survived by her grandchildren Heather and Joseph Moriarity, Jennifer and Julian Vance and Mathew and Michael Obie. Great grandchildren Brooke Obie, Ayden Pahle, Dominic Marro, Patrick, Carl and Chole Moriarity and Josie Vance. She also leave behind her precious cat Anna Mae. Along with many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Gerard Buster Obie and grandson Nicolas Obie.

The family extends thanks to those who cared for our mother at St. Mary’s Hospital and D’Youville Pavilion.

Family and friend are invited to a time of visitation on Friday, September 4, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8pm. There will be a inhouse service at the same location and day starting at 6pm. Family and friends are also invited to join for light refreshments between the two service times at The Fortin and Pinette Funeral Home.
