AUBURN -Louis F. Hammerschmidt passed away peacefully on August 6, 2021. He was born to the late Joseph and Mary Hammerschmidt on June 28, 1930. After graduating High school he went on serve in The Coast Guard for 6 years. After leaving the military, he went to work for Stanley Works and was there for 42 years.
He is survived by his four children: Louis, Lu-Ann, Lisa, and Catherine. eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his wife and a daugher, Laurie.
Visitation will be held Monday August 16th at 11am to 12pm at The Fortin Group 217 Turner St. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 1pm at Holy Family Church. Burial will be held at a later date at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
