AUBURN- Louise Anne Marie Bourque Ouellette Quirion, 71, of Turner and Lewiston, Maine, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 31, 2026. She was born Louise Anne Marie Bourque to Emile and Lillianne (Audet) Bourque in Lewiston, Maine on November 10, 1954.
Louise attended St. Peter’s Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1973. She married her high school sweetheart Gary Ouellette on August 25, 1973, and together they raised four children: Angel, Andrea, Joey, and Christian. Gary passed away October 10, 1995. Louise later married Norman Quirion on May 14, 2004.
Louise retired from Proctor & Gamble in Auburn, Maine in 2014 after 38 years of service. She also enjoyed working as a real estate agent and later as a staff member at Bates College Museum of Art.
Louise was a longtime resident of Lewiston, Maine, before moving to Turner in 2011. During Gary’s military career, the growing family also lived in Germany and Texas. Fluent in French, Louise took pride in her French-Canadian heritage, which was anchored by her large and close knit extended family, often having Sunday dinners together upstairs from the family store, Bourque’s Market. She was a dedicated parishioner of Prince of Peace Parish.
Louise was deeply involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, supporting them at activities and sporting events throughout their upbringing. She loved hosting holidays, always opening her home to family, friends, and anyone who needed a place to celebrate. Louise enjoyed being part of hot air balloon chase crews, especially during the Great Falls Balloon Festival, and biking in the Trek Across Maine with Norm. She combined her love of family with her love of the arts–from scrapbooking and paper crafting with her sister, singing and playing music with cousins, to dancing and painting.
Whether it was spending weeks each year at the beach in Old Orchard, sharing game nights of cribbage, Boggle, mancala, and pichonette, weekend adventures with her best friend since childhood Carmen, or relaxing in the sunroom with Norm while taking in the mountain views, Louise thoroughly enjoyed all of life’s simple pleasures. She truly had a joie de vivre.
Louise is survived by her husband, Norman Quirion; daughter Angelique DeFeo and husband Christopher of Wakefield, Massachusetts; daughter Andrea Plourde and husband Deron of Lewiston, Maine; son Gary “Joey” Ouellette and wife Kristi of Cumberland, Maine; son Christian Ouellette and wife Caitlin of Cumberland, Maine; grandchildren John, Robert, and Thomas DeFeo; Curtis, Camden, and Carly Plourde; Elle and Emry Ouellette; Sadie, Emma, Noah, and William Ouellette; sister Michelle Bourque and fiancé Marcel Gosselin of Lewiston, Maine; brother-in-law Mark Ouellette and wife Mary Kay of Bethel, Maine; stepson Matthew Quirion and wife Mary and their children Madeline, Jack, and Brady of Maryland; stepdaughter Emily Cegledy and husband Vincent and their children Mary, Vincent Jr., Frankie, and Joey of South Carolina; nieces Kelsey Theriault, husband Ian, and their daughter Ruth of New Hampshire; Jordan Hojlo and husband Justin of Brunswick, Maine; and Monique Gosselin of New York.
