She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 9, 1954, to Mary (Kozowyk) DeChellis and Amleto (Army) DeChellis of Dorchester, Massachusetts.
Marianne attended schools in the Dorchester area where she was active in girls’ chorus and volleyball until graduating with the class of 1972 at Roslindale High School.
Marianne had a beautiful singing voice and a big personality. She had an uncompromising nature, high expectations, and a determination to do things her way. These traits served her well while raising two boys by herself, providing a house to call home, and consistent, strong parenting which guided them on their path to becoming good men. She tempered the discipline with the softness of a nurturing mother, with a home filled with music and singing, and the aroma of fresh baked goodies or bread to come home to. She worked very long, hard hours as a waitress while still managing to attend the boy's baseball games, where we are certain that she could be heard yelling “That’s my boy!” from across town. Her boys were her "pride and joy", every day of her life. Once her sons were on their own, Marianne spent her free time taking care of her pets, reading, gardening, baking, and most importantly, keeping up with what was going on in her grandson's lives. This was her life, to love, and to be loved by family. That is what mattered most to her, what she was passionate about, what she excelled at, and what she will be so terribly missed for.
Marianne was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by her son Timothy Bouchard and his fiancée, Melissa O'Leary of Turner, Maine, her son Christopher Bouchard and his wife Kristina (Poirier) Bouchard of Auburn, Maine, her grandsons, River, Oliver, and Wesley Bouchard of Auburn, Maine. She also leaves behind her brothers, Joseph DeChellis of San Francisco, California, Robert DeChellis and his wife Barbara of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, Michael DeChellis and his wife Jane of North Grafton, Massachusetts, her nieces and nephew, Jennifer, Lisa, Jessica, and Christian, and her longtime friend, Herbie Brown of Rhode Island.
In honoring Marianne's wishes there will be no services. Her final resting place will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn.
