Myrna D. Demers

Myrna was born December 30, 1938 in Bangor Maine the seventh child of Ray and Jessie Anderson. She lived in Auburn with her parents and siblings Julie, Raymond, Evelyn, Calvin, Carolyn, Jeannine and Dennis. Myrna attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little in 1957. In her sophomore year, Myrna had the great fortune of standing next to Dick Demers, while he was a drummer in the band and she was a majorette in the marching band. Dick became the love of her life, and they spent the next 64 years together until he passed in 2022.

Upon graduation Myrna was employed as a typist for the State of Maine Welfare Department. She left work when her first child, Cindy was born in 1959, and returned after her youngest began school. In 1977, Myrna worked at Skelton, Taintor & Abbott as a paralegal. In 1986 she began working for St. Mary’s Volunteer Department as the administrative coordinator, until she retired.

Myrna and Dick raised their children going to Sebago Lake, Richardson’s Marina, leaving a legacy of boating love to her children and grandchildren. Myrna loved spending time with her family.

Myrna and Dick were blessed with four surviving children, losing two, a son David in 1981 and a daughter Judy, who died at birth in 1962. She is survived by daughter Cindy Demers Baril, her husband Larry Baril, Richard Demers, wife Sandra Clements Demers, Randy, wife Polly Beaudoin Demers, Jody, and his wife Jenn Poulin Demers. Myrna is also survived by her brothers Raymond “Dutchy” Anderson and Dennis Anderson and sisters-in law, Anita Demers Olko and Joanne Demers Fuller. Myrna was loved by 9 grandchildren; Shannon (Demers) Daigle, Chad Baril, Kimberly (Baril) Guay, Ryan Demers, Scott Demers, Dawna Demers, Jon Demers, David Demers and Alex Demers and 18 great grandchildren; Maizy, Colby, Jonah, Ariana, Maddox, Landon, Reese, AJ, Ava, Brady, Issac, Alexis, Zachary, Cole, Madeline, Kinsley, Rylie and Dallas. She also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews and friends. She fondly leaves behind her girlfriends from kindergarten to graduation she still met with for lunch dates, as well as the countless friends Myrna has made everywhere she has been.
