

SARASOTA, FL---Nathan Blum, 96, of Sarasota, Florida passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday August 17, 2017. He was born in the country of Hungary on June 3, 1921 a son of the late Gabor and Libeh (Sigelman) Blum. At the young age of six months, he and his family moved to New York where he spent most of his adolescence and attend New York schools.
After high school, Nathan was drafted and proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his service he moved to Maine where he would meet his future wife, Kaellie Siegel. The two were married on October 29, 1944 in New York and then came back to Maine.
While living in Maine, Nathan and his wife had a beautiful daughter, Linda and he worked at Riverside Market in Lewiston of which he owned and operated for over 35 years.
Nathan will always be remembered for his love of playing cribbage and being very active in the Beth Abraham Synagogue. He was also a past Commander of American Legion Post 153 in Auburn and a lifelong member of the Elks Club. He will deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Hall and her husband Ted of Florida, two brothers, Joseph and Andrew Blum, both of New York and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Kaellie and his brother, Samuel.

BLUM---Nathan, 96, of Sarasota, FL died Thursday August 17, 2017. A graveside service will be held at Beth Abraham cemetery in Auburn on Wednesday August 23, 2017 at 11am.
