

Auburn – Paul R. Daignault, 86, resident of Caron Lane in Auburn died Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Odd Fellows Home in Auburn following a long illness. He was born February 26, 1924 in Topsham, ME a son of Paul J. and Rose (McDuff) Daignault. He was educated in Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School with the Class of 1942.
Mr. Daignault was employed in sales at Rogers Jewelers, Benoit’s Clothing Store and at Porteous.
He was a longtime member of the Eastgate Christian Fellowship in New Gloucester. Paul had a close relationship with Jesus Christ and liked to read the bible. He also enjoyed ministering to others. He had sung with the Church Band and together with his brother had sung and had been known locally as the “Heavenly Twins”.
Paul enjoyed spending free time painting, enjoying music, skiing, tending to his gardens and working on various projects around his house. He was an avid fan of football and enjoyed watching games on television.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Shirley R. (Sampson) Daignault of Auburn, three children, Mary and her husband George Holmes of Auburn, Richard Daignault of Lewiston, Daniel and his wife Patricia Daignault of Auburn, a brother Peter and his wife Theresa Daignault of New Gloucester, five grandchildren, Simon, Andrew, Matthew, Katie, Joseph and 3 great grandchildren.
The Daignault family would like to offer their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Oswald, the nurses and the staff of the Odd Fellows Home for the care and support offered to Paul and the family during his time there.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-7PM on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at The Fortin Group, 217 Turner Street, Auburn. Private interment will be held in Maine Veteran’s Cemetery, Augusta.
