Paul Alvin Rainey Jr.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Keragann Lee Rainey; his parents, Marie Patricia Rainey and Paul Rainey Sr.; his sisters, Tanice M. Rainey, Michelle Cooper, and Sharon Mitchell, his grandsons, Tristen Paul Alexander and Malakai James; his nieces, Alexandra Rainey and Chelsey Cooper; and his nephews, Michael Meserve, Dominic Rainey and Chris Cooper, as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles and great nieces and nephews. Also, his best friend of many years, Raymond Legere and his wife Jane.

He leaves behind a family who will carry forward the stories, laughter, and warmth he shared with them.

Born on July 19, 1963, in New Brunswick, New Jersey to Marie Patricia and Paul Rainey. He graduated High school from Lisbon high school in 1980. Over the course of his life, Paul shared his heart in marriage three times. He first married Suzie Vashon when he was nineteen, later married Kelly Lessard in 1991, and married Wendy Rainey in 2003. Each chapter of his life carried its own memories and meaning.

For several decades Paul owned and operated his own janitorial service know as Rainey's cleaning service. In later years, he was employed with the United States Postal Service as rural postal carrier in southern Maine, which he cherished and enjoyed.

Paul grew into a man who felt most at home in the open air. He found deep joy in the outdoors, whether he was gliding across the water in his kayak or immersing himself in the history he loved through Civil War reenactments and visiting the various battle sites. These pursuits reflected his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for nature and the friends he enjoyed it with.

Paul was one of Jehovah's Witness for many years of his life and still strongly believed the things he learned. He shared many years of fun-loving memories with friends in the faith.

Those who knew Paul will remember his enthusiasm for life and the way he embraced the things that brought him happiness. Whether recounting a piece of history or planning his next time with friends and family, he approached life with kindness and generosity.

May Paul find peace and rest; and may the memories he leaves behind offer comfort to all who loved him. His family takes solace in the belief that we will be reunited with him again, until then, they hold close the moments they were fortunate to share with him.

Details regarding a celebration of life will be announced by the family in due time, we all appreciate your patience in this matter.
