

Auburn - Mrs. Pauline A. Ouellette, 87, of Clover Manor and formerly of 174 Stevens Mills Rd., Auburn died Sunday at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice with her family by her side. Born in Lowell, MA September 30, 1925 a daughter of the late Arthur & Amanda Laferriere Lemay, she graduated from Edward Little High School in the Class of 1943. She was married to Ernest Ouellette who died in 1997. Mrs. Ouellette was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at Sacred Heart Church. Mrs. Ouellette was a devoted mother and homemaker to three daughters. In 1950, she was diagnosed with polio and spent 9 months rehabilitating at the Hyde Home in Bath, Maine. In 1955, she was awarded the March of Dimes Mother of the Year Award for the State of Maine. Additionally, she was later nominated for and received a Certificate of Lifetime Achievement Award from Clover Manor in 2005. She enjoyed baking, camping, family backyard gatherings and attending her daughters' various activities while they were growing up. She will be remembered for her strong will, undying determination to maintain her independence and a dedication and love for her family and friends like none other.She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Faye & Jared Bristol of Hebron, ME., Sheila & Gary Gould of Knoxville, TN., Gail & Edward Barber of Zionsville, IN., a step-son Gerard Ouellette and his wife Charlene of Richmond, ME., 7 grandchildren:Lianne (Bristol) Pritchard, Ian and Jared Bristol, Todd Gould, Krista (Gould) Sagraves, Scott & Christopher Barber, 19 great grandchildren, her sisters-in-law, Jane Hamel and her husband Roland, Rita Dube and Theresa Forgues, several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a brother Roland J. Lemay. The family would like to thank Marc Croteau her dear friend and her visiting angel, the entire staff of Clover Healthcare in particular, Ms. Vicki Black, LPN and Mrs. Laurette Gosselin who kept her beautiful every week.
