Rebecca Sue Houle

LEWISTON – Rebecca (Becky) Sue Houle of Lewiston, Maine passed away suddenly at age 68 on September 4, 2026 surrounded by her children and family friends. She was born in Farmington, Maine on December 8, 1957 to Clinton and Florice Bryant.

Becky grew up in Livermore Falls, and graduated from Livermore Falls High School in 1976. She continued on to UMA and graduated with an Associates degree in 1978. She had two children, a daughter, Jessica and a son, Jason. Over the years she lived in Wilton, Hartford, New Sharon and finally Lewiston, ME.

Becky worked for UMF Facilities Dept starting in 1988, beginning as a secretary and working her way up the ladder to Administrative Support Supervisor and retired in 2022. She was a hard worker who made fast friends with her co-workers, and passed her work ethic on to her children.

She spent many weekends with her granddaughters sharing in baking adventures, teaching them how to sew and crochet. She taught them how identify the birds at her beloved birdfeeders, and also how to shoo away pesky squirrels and snacky raccoons. Becky also loved quilting, crocheting and reading in her free time. She was loved by many, and was a remarkably generous and giving person. She was always crocheting a quilt or other handmade goodies for her family and friends. While in and out of the hospital the last four months, she met and befriended many of her nurses at CMMC and D’youville, and always had visitors to keep her company.

She is survived by her daughter Jessica Bridges, her husband Nicholas Bridges and granddaughters Norah and Julia of Windham, ME.; her son Jason Houle, his wife Johanna Mirenda of Vermont; her sister Lisa Kennedy, her husband Rick Kennedy of Brunswick/Topsham; her brother Jeff Bryant, his wife Lori Bryant of Livermore. She is also survived by many more dear friends and family who will miss her deeply.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life for Becky on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 4PM to 7PM at The Fortin & Pinette Group Funeral Home, 217 Turner Street Auburn, ME 04210. Please join us for a casual evening of gathering and celebrating Becky's life.
