Here, he happily spent his most carefree days with his loving wife Marge and puttered in the garage with his project cars and interests. They enjoyed doing so much together and their love could light up a room. He was also, truly, my hero.
A machinist by trade and a mechanic by choice. He could make or build anything and loved riding and modifying motorcycles. From the Corvette to the DeLorean to the Buick (to name a few), there was never an empty bay in the garage. He was a Purple Heart veteran in the Vietnam War and I was so glad to see him wear it with the pride he deserved later in life.
If he were still here he would thank his friends around him over the many years for their care and help. Whether it was checking in on storm days, chopping wood, running antiques, or visiting in the garage, they too now mourn his absence in the neighborhood.
A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a veterans organization or cat shelter in his memory. Arrangements by The Fortin & Pinette Group 217 Turner Street in Auburn, 783-8545. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be expressed at www.fortinpinettegroupauburn.com .
