Robertine Theresa” Robbie” Dumond , 86, of Spring Street, Lewiston, passed away on April 05, surrounded by her entire family. She was born in Guerette, Maine on August 06, 1928, the daughter of Donat and Josephine ( Cyr) Lagasse. She was raised in Guerette with her older brother and younger sister. During their upbringing the family moved to a few places in Maine and eventually settled in Lewiston. She was very close to her siblings and had wonderful parents. During her teen years, she would go dancing with her girlfriends. On one of these occasions, she met a man one night that had stopped in Lewiston to visit a friend on his way up north to visit his family. That man, Rosaire Dumond, was so infatuated with her that he moved to Lewiston and became her husband for 67 beautiful years until his passing. As they began their family, it was decided that she would stay home with the children. When the children were old enough, she went to work at Raytheon in Lewiston until their closing. She also worked at two sock lining companies. The last one was with Ly-Da stamping. She retired from there. That was her favorite place of all her jobs. She loved and enjoyed working with these people. She loved to knit. Every year, she would make mittens, hat or slippers for all her family. She taught one of her granddaughter how to knit. She always had time for her grandchildren. Her special treat for the grandkids was her Pumpkin cookies. They were the best. Her roasts and chop suey were delicious. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always had time to listen if you needed an ear. She was the mother most children would be proud to have. As a grandmother, the memories are never ending. Robertine and her husband, Rosaire were fortunate to have been part of a Five Generation Family on two occasions. Robertine and her husband shared a passion for sports. They loved the Boston Red Sox and the Patriots. When she lost her husband three years ago, her son moved in with her and they also share the same passion for sports. She continued to be active until three months ago. She would join her sister, Mary Jane and her other lady friends for coffee every day. She looked forward to that.
