Roger Edward Millett 1928 - 2021

Lewiston-Roger Edward Millett, 93, of Turner, passed away on October 7, 2021. Roger was born April 2, 1928, the son of Bertram and Elva Millett of East Waterford. At a young age, Roger enjoyed hunting, when not working the land for local farmers or winter roads for the Town of Waterford. Roger served in the army during World War II.

In 1953, Roger met and married, Helen Stewart, sharing 68 years together at their family farm in Turner. Roger’s strong work ethic and respect for animals carried over into his lifelong career as a milk hauler. Roger hauled milk from local farmers to H.P. Hood (Agri Mark) for over 42 years. Neighbors have stated they could set their clocks by his comings and goings. When not hauling milk, Roger would be tending animals, fields, plowing, gardening, and harvesting wood into his 90’s. He often took Helen for long drives enjoying the countryside and frequently partaking in a community bean dinner along the way.
