

Litchfield - Rose M. Blier, 96 of Litchfield, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 at her residence with family by her side. She was born in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada, April 8, 1914 the daughter of the late Fred and Harmonia Marquis Michaud. She was married to Aurele J. Blier April 21, 1930 at St. Remi Church in Keegan. She became a proud U.S. citizen in the 1960's. In addition to raising a large family, Rose also owned a beauty shop in Keegan and later worked at the woolen mill in Dover Foxcroft. During World War II she was employed as one of "Rosie's Riveters" at the South Portland Shipyard. She later worked with her husband as assistant treasurer at Sabattus Credit Union. Rose was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and a past president of the Womens' Club at the church. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary at Council # 106 in Lewiston. She is survived by 5 daughters, Geraldine Gagne and husband Raymond of Greene, Ernestine LaRose of Lewiston, Jeannine Quintal and husband Roland of Rollingsford, N.H., Catherine Blier of Florida and Martine Cloutier and husband Donald of Litchfield; 6 sons, Aurele O. Blier and companion Alice Rodrigue of Litchfield, Andrew Blier and wife Mary of Lowell, Mass., Clarence Blier and wife Jackie of Dover, N.H., Carroll Blier and wife Claire of Sanford, Eric Blier and wife Carol of Waterville and Roger Blier and his companion Jeanne Poulin of Auburn; a daughter-in-law, Sue Blier of West Gardiner; also 53 grandchildren, 120 great grandchildren and 70 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband in 2006, a daughter Joceline, a grandson, Andy Blier and 3 brothers, Leo, Eric and Andrew Michaud.
