She was born in Greenville, Maine on February 20, 1947 to Elsie and Clayton Burtt.
She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1965. She was employed as a stitcher at Etonic and many area shoe shops for many years. In 2000 she went to work at UNUM in Portland and retired from there in 2009. Violet volunteered at the Good Shepard Food Bank and the Turner Food Pantry.
Violet was a people person; she loved to play cards and get together with friends and family. Her hobbies were knitting, counted cross stitch, tole painting, reading and making greeting cards. She also loved to travel and had a love for country music.
Violet is survived by many good friends and cousins.
She is predeceased by her parents, Elsie and Clayton Burtt and her longtime partner Merril Boynton.
Family and Friends are invited to a funeral mass celebrating Violet's life at Grace Fellowship Church, 29 Poplar Street in Oxford on Saturday, July 18 at 11am. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service at the church.
