Donald James Kennedy, age 76, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, just days before his 77th birthday. He was born on August 11, 1949, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Oliver Kennedy Jr. and Opal Josephine Kennedy.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Donald will be lovingly remembered by his son, David Andrew Kennedy; his brother, Forrest Kennedy; and his sister-in-law, Pat Kennedy. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Brenda Leischner (Rob), Dawn Thompson (Rick), Beau Thompson, Calvin Leischner, Sloan Leischner, Jack Leischner, Heather Holt (Justin), and Ashton Abbott. Donald’s memory will also be cherished by his close family friend, Barbara Kennedy, along with other family members and dear friends whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 28 at 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 W William Cannon Dr, Austin, Texas 78749. A committal service will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
