On October 11, 1953, Dorothy married Alden, beginning a loving partnership that would span many years. Together, they built their life in Austin, Texas, creating lasting memories and sharing many wonderful adventures.
Dorothy and Alden were longtime, active members of Christ Lutheran Church, where their faith and church community were an important part of their lives. Through their involvement, they shared in the fellowship and friendships of their church family.
Dorothy, affectionately known as “Dotty,” worked as an accounting supervisor for Sears, where she formed many lasting friendships with her coworkers. She valued those friendships and the connections she made throughout her years there.

Some of their favorite times were spent square dancing together and playing dominoes with friends. Whether traveling to new places, enjoying a friendly game, or cheering on their favorite team, Dotty found joy in the simple pleasures of life and the company of those she loved.
Dotty was incredibly proud of her family, and being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was one of her greatest joys. Affectionately known as “Memaw” to her grandchildren, she was a devoted and loving presence in their lives.
