John graduated from West Orange High School in 1964. He worked as an Aircraft Mechanic after serving in the United States Air Force and The Vietnam War. John was also actively involved in managing the bookkeeping for his wife’s business and enjoyed traveling in his downtime. John also helped raise his grandson and in later years, cared for his wife, Linda.
John loved all animals and cared for all of their dogs like family, he enjoyed tinkering with electronics, studying aviation, spending time with his wife and family at the beach and in Las Vegas and loved to reminisce about his younger days when growing up in New Jersey.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Joseph Reilly, Sr; mother, Helen Marie Reilly and wife Rose Linda Reilly.
He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Dawn Bellg (Rudy Ortega Bellg); grandson Taylor Cole Cavender (Hannah Luanne Cavender); great-grandson Avery Cole Cavender; sister Joan Dungan (Brian Dungan); brother-in-law Ronald Nelson Tait (Laura Gutierrez Tait); sister-in-law Nancy Lorraine Naukam; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
The family would like to thank Halcyon Hospice, specifically Cathy, RN and Kevin, CNA for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation, starting at 11:00 AM, and service, starting at noon at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home on December 29, 2023. The service will be followed by the interment at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:00 PM with military honors.
