

Josephine was born October 4, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, Floresville High School, and St Phillips College in San Antonio, Texas
During her teenage years she represented both the Wilson County and the Falstaff Corporation in the Peanut Festival Parade. She went on to marry her high school sweetheart Juan A Martinez in 1963 and she traveled with him through out his 21 years of military service. During this time the family lived and visited many places some of which were Little Rock, Arkansas; Tampa, Miami, Orlando, and St Augustine, Florida; Okinawa, Japan; Taipei, Taiwan; Honolulu, Hawaii; and eventually settling down in Austin, Texas. Josephine always maintained employment during their travels she worked for Hartford Insurance, Military Continuing Education Program, and Motorola as a Human Resources Specialist and Trainer. She then went on to manage several stores for the Limited Corporation and went on to work for Brackenridge Hospital and Seton Corporation in Austin where she retired from in 2011.
Josie was preceded in death by her father Jesus C Malacara, mother Maria de Jesus Malacara, younger brother Mario Francisco Malacara, and husband of 36 years Juan Antonio Martinez.
She is survived by her two daughters, Delia Sonya Recio (Bonifacio) and Dahlia Isamari Martinez (Domingo); six grandchildren Jessica Marisa, Julian Antonio, Cruz Alejandro, Bianca Inez, Celeste Alexis and Francesca Belen; eight great grandchildren Julie Ariza, Julian Anthony, Belicia Isamari, Zoe Analise, Anthony Isaac, Mathew Isiah, and Roman Pierre; sisters Guadalupe Ontiveros (Carlos) and Blanca Blanchard (Donald); brothers Jesus Juan Malacara (Gloria) and Javier Malacara (Rose); and numerous immediate and extended family and friends which she held very dear to her heart.
Josephine requested a private viewing for her immediate family which was held on December 6, 2019 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks in Austin,Texas.
A person so special and life so beautiful deserves to be celebrated.
