Leopoldo "Polo" Cantu Guajardo

On February 4, 2021, Polo passed away peacefully, surrounded by his daughter Gina and granddaughter "Little Cindy." He was 82 years old, born in Lockhart, Texas, to Santiago and Santos C. (Granny) Guajardo.

Polo was well-loved by those in his family and community. He was a good father who always cared for his children and did the best he could to teach and guide them. He was a remarkable dancer who loved to dance to country music at the Broken Spoke and Mercer Street Dancehall weekly for many years.

He was humble, strong, proud, and a good man. He was loved and will be missed by many.

Polo was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago "Papito" C. Guajardo and Santos ”Granny” C. Guajardo; his brother Pedro Guajardo; sisters Marina G. Garcia, Lilie G. Gomez, Mary Anne G. Ledesma; his children, James C. Guajardo and Cynthia Ann Guajardo Solis, whom he loved dearly.

Polo is survived by his brother Martin Guajardo; his children Michael C. Guajardo and Gina Lynn Lozada (Alfredo); his grandchildren Cindy (Eric) Hernandez, Raquel Solis (Kent), Stephen James Guajardo, Roxanne Solis (Ulises), and Destiny Ramirez (Freddy), Guadalupe Lynn, Yadhyra Lynn, and Evelyn Lynn; Great-grandchildren Anthony and Amarissa, Adrian(AJ), Juliana and Jose (JoJo) Castro, Kayla Avila, a host of nieces, nephews; and his beloved doggy, Tita Guajardo.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the Dell Seton Medical Center staff for their care and compassion.

Visitation/Services will begin at 5-7 pm on Friday, February 12, 2021

Chapel Services will begin on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 2 pm and the burial will commence at 3 pm.
