With broken hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Mark Allen Belcher, who left us on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the age of 55 after suffering a heart attack. Mark passed away surrounded by family and friends who loved him deeply.
Mark was born September 14, 1971, in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines, at Clark Air Base, to Brigida Ruiz Belcher and James Ellis Belcher.
Mark was truly one of a kind. Once you met him, you remembered him. He could make you laugh, talk with you about almost anything, lend a helping hand, or happily spend hours behind the grill-BBQing. He was known for his great BBQ and his incredible knowledge of movies, music, and history. If there was a trivia question to answer, chances were Mark knew it. He also played in a pool league for many years. Five years ago, his team made it to APA-National Championship in Las Vegas. Which was one of his many dreams.
But the most important part of Mark's life was his family. Mark was a devoted father to Sean and a loving husband and life partner to Lorena. There was nothing he would not do for them. His love wasn't just something he talked about—it was something he showed every day through the way he cared for, protected, supported, and loved his family.
To Sean, Mark was more than a father. He was someone he could depend on, learn from, laugh with, and know would always be there for him. Mark was incredibly proud to be Sean's dad, and the love he had for his son was immeasurable.
To Lorena, Mark was more than a husband and life partner. He was her person—her companion through everyday life, the person she shared the big moments and the ordinary ones with. Those ordinary moments now mean more than words can express.
To the rest of us, Mark was a brother, uncle, family member, and friend who could always be counted on. He had a generous heart and was willing to help whenever someone needed him.
Mark is survived by his beloved son, Sean; his wife and life partner, Lorena; his father, James E. Belcher; his brother, Ron, and sister-in-law, Sarah; and his extended family, Pablo E., Ninfa P., Hector, Sabrina, and Angela.
He will also be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews, Beatrice, Felix, Elizabeth, Melinda, Ray “Little Bear,” Adela Janelle, Elijah, Roberto, Mia R., Pablo Jr., Yvette, Yasmine, and Hector Jr., along with his ten great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Brigida Ruiz Belcher.
We were not ready to say goodbye. We thought there would be more time—more conversations, more laughs, more BBQs, more movies, more stories, and more days together.
But even though Mark's life ended far too soon, the love he gave us did not.
Sean will carry his father's love, lessons, and memories with him throughout his life. Lorena will carry the love and life they shared together. And all of us who were fortunate enough to know Mark will carry a piece of him in the stories we tell, the memories that make us laugh, and the moments when something reminds us of him.
There will always be an empty place where Mark should be, but there will also always be gratitude that he was ours to love.
Mark, thank you for loving us, taking care of us, making us laugh, and giving us memories that will last a lifetime. You were a wonderful father, a loving husband, and a good man. We love you. We miss you. And we will carry you with us always. Until we meet again.
